Two policemen have been suspended in connection with the shooting of Abu Saeed, a student of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur. Rangpur Deputy Police Commissioner Abu Maruf Hossain confirmed this information.

SI Amir Hossain and Constable Sujan Chandra have been suspended.

Earlier, the police claimed that Abu Saeed was killed by bullets and brickbats fired by protesters. They have given this information in the statement of the case. However, the investigation into this murder is going on. Action will be taken if any policeman is found responsible for it. And that is why they are asking to wait for the autopsy report.

  

Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police. Moniruzzaman said, 'Abu Saeed's death has been confirmed according to the law in the presence of the magistrate. However, the autopsy report is not yet available. If it is found, the cause of death may be known. The investigation is going on, the whole matter will be clear only after the investigation process is over.'

  

Abu Saeed, a 12th batch English student of Begum Rokeya University, was killed by a rubber bullet in a clash between police and quota protesters on July 16. Since then, the anti-quota movement has gained a new dimension. Soon after evening, the University Teachers' Association issued a statement expressing grief and sorrow.
